Math 441: Differential Equations

This information applies to the 8-week 2023 Summer Semester course.


Overview

MATH 441 is a basic course in ordinary differential equations. Topics include existence and uniqueness of solutions and the general theory of linear differential equations. Treatment is more rigorous than that given in MATH 285

Credit is not given for both MATH 441 and any of MATH 284, and MATH 285.

MATH 241, MATH 347 or MATH 348 is recommended.

This course uses the Moodle online system. Students must be able to view assignments online, write out solutions, then scan or take a photo of their written work and upload it to Moodle.


Testing

Exams:This course has three 90-minute midterm tests and a 3-hour final exam.
