Biography
Tayyab joined the NetMath program as a TA in 2012, and as a full-time lecturer in 2019. He provides instructional support for the program, including mentoring students in NetMath online courses, creating, reviewing and updating pedagogical materials, and developing instructional aids such as study guides, mini-lectures, and test banks. His professional experience includes working as a Research Associate and Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) in Pakistan, and Program Associate in the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute at Berkeley. Tayyab earned his Master’s in Applied Mathematics and PhD in Mathematics with Computational Science and Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2017.
His interests include auto-graded courseware development for mathematics courses using Mathematica and python, and mathematical perspective based courseware developments of the ML/data science courses. His research interests include Mathematical Biology, applications of Machine Learning in cancer detection, its level of penetration as well as effectiveness of proposed chemical prescriptions for cancer treatment.
